Greyhound Football...U Indy Baby! (9/17/11 game vs Grand Valley State)

This past weekend, I had my first experience doing some sports photography - and boy did I get my eyes wide opened!  Someone I know that can make things happen, got me an "All Access Pass" so I could get up close and personal with the "Hounds".  I learned a few important things during my little venture
  1. If you are standing on the sidelines, even with a big camera around your neck, you just may get tackled
  2. The referees are only there to do their job - they could care less if they are blocking a great photo opportunity you have
  3. You really start to pay a lot more attention to the game - especially if it's a nail biter! The final score was 34-33, with the Greyhounds taking the win.
  4. You could actually get tackled by the fans after the game when they rush the field after a big win!

Well, those are my learnings from the week and below you will find a few of my favorite images.

Until Next Time,
Go Hounds!

No, not the NFL - but they make an entrance!
This guy was hot all night.  He sent me running from the
sidelines because he comes toward you like a MAC truck. But he got the touchdown!

I wasn't so concerned about #12 getting tackled, I was
more concerned that I was right behind #12!

It didn't end so good for #12, but it did end ok for me
because I am still pretty quick on my feet, with or
without a camera in my hand.
A great moment at the end of the game, with one of the coaches and
players (and yes, for those of you that know me, this is my cousin Max!)
